Come see the floor before you decide anything.

An orientation isn't a sales appointment and it isn't a free trial class. It's a 45-minute conversation where you see how we teach, your child gets on the mat, and we work out together whether this is the right place for your family.

  • You'll watch a real class — not a demo run for you. Whatever's on the schedule that day.
  • Your child gets on the mat — in regular clothes, with an instructor, for as long as they're comfortable.
  • We'll ask about your kid — what they struggle with, what you'd want to be different in six months.
  • Bringing more than one child? Add them all when you book. We'll see the whole family in one visit, and there are family rates worth knowing about.
  • You get every number in full — tuition, what's included, how starting works. Nothing held back and nothing hidden.
  • There's no contract, and there's a same-day offer — enroll the day of your orientation and it costs less. We're telling you up front so you can come ready to decide.

What actually happens

Forty-five minutes, start to finish.

So you know exactly what you're walking into.

We meet you

You'll be greeted by name — we know you're coming. Quick tour of the floor, the viewing area, where you'll sit, where the bathrooms are. Coffee if you want it.

Your child gets on the mat

An instructor works with them one-on-one or joins them into a class. Regular clothes are fine. If they're nervous, we'll go at their pace — some kids watch the first time and that's a completely normal outcome.

We talk about your kid

What they're like at home. What their teacher says. What you'd want to be different in six months. This is the part that tells us whether we can actually help.

You get a straight answer

If we're a fit, we'll show you what it costs and how to start — your child can be in class the next day. If we're not, we'll say so and point you somewhere better.

The honest version of the money conversation

There is no contract. Ever. Not a twelve-month agreement, not an auto-renew you have to catch later. You can stop with 30 days' notice. We'd rather earn your family every single month than lock you into a year you regret by March.

Yes, we'll show you pricing. If we think we're a fit, we walk you through exactly what it costs and how starting works. We'd be wasting your afternoon if we didn't.

And yes — there's an incentive to enroll that day. If you start the day of your orientation, we take money off the enrollment fee and your uniform is included. We're telling you now, before you come, instead of springing it on you at the table. It's a real offer, it's genuinely better than waiting, and you'll have heard about it in advance so you can come ready to decide.

What we won't do is work you over. No manager brought across the room. No follow-up campaign if you say no. We're not trying to fill a room — we want people who actually want to be here.

Before you come

Quick answers.

What should we wear?

Comfortable clothes you can move in — a t-shirt and shorts or sweatpants. Training is barefoot, so shoes come off at the mat. You don't need to buy anything.

Does my child have to participate?

No. We'd like them to try, but if they'd rather watch the first time, that's fine and it happens often. Plenty of our students watched from a chair on day one.

What if I have more than one child?

Add each of them when you book and we'll see you all in a single visit — multi-child families come to the evening orientation so nobody makes two trips. There are meaningful family rates for a second and third member, and it's much easier to walk through with everyone in the room.

My child is shy, anxious, or has been asked to leave somewhere else.

Tell us in the notes box when you book. Mrs. Kena's background is in special education and she specializes in young children and neurodivergent students. This is the kind of thing we want to know before you arrive, not after.

How long until they can actually start?

The next day. We don't run enrollment windows or make you wait for a new session to begin — if we're a fit, your child joins the very next class.

Do we have to decide the same day?

No. But we'll be straight with you: enrolling the day of your orientation costs less and includes your uniform, so there's a real reason to. There's no contract either way — 30 days' notice and you're free to go.

What if we can't make our time?

Just call or text 410-253-6981 and we'll move it. No penalty, no awkwardness. We'd much rather reschedule than have you no-show.

Who you'll be sitting with

Mr. Justin and Mrs. Kena.

The owners run the orientations. Not a salesperson, not a front-desk hire — the two people who will actually be teaching your child.

Mr. Justin has been training since 1990 and holds rank in four martial arts. Mrs. Kena holds rank in two and has a background in special education. Between them they've taught in more than four states.

We opened Legacy so our own children would have a place to grow up in — and build a legacy of their own. That's still the whole reason we're on the floor.
